Bananarama - A Trick Of The Night {U.S Full Edit}

Bananarama - A Trick Of The Night

This is the rare uncut version for the American version of 'A Trick Of The Night' from Bananarama.

This single was released from their third album 'True Confessions' in 1987, hot on the heels of the massive and very succesful 'Venus' and it's follow up dance hit 'More Than Physical', this single has always been a fan favourite with it's beautiful harmonised vocals and overlays.

The video is one of Bananarama's best, very atmospheric with a dark topic at the heart of the lyrics.

Bananarama - Do Not Disturb

Bananarama - Do Not Disturb

Here is a fab little clip of Bananarama performing on the British television programme 'Music Shed' in 1985, their only release of that year.

Bananarama -It's The Way That U Dub It!

BANANARAMA with FUN BOY THREE - IT AIN'T WHAT U DO (it's the way that U dub it)

Here's a brilliantly quirky remix, and music meld, one of the best we've heard and a new favourite of ours at The Siobhan Fahey Realm, we hope you think so too?

Bananarama

Bananarama 1984

Here is a beautiful press photograph of Bananarama circa 1984 around the time of the 'Wild Life' single release for America.

This is a collectors item as you can imagine, items such as these with Siobhan, Keren and Sara and signatures are becoming very rare.

Incidently, this photograph was sliced up and used for the 'King Of The Jungle' record sleeve in Japan, so if you have that rare 7" you'll see this shot in full 1980s colour.

Bananarama ~Venus Remix Winner

Venus Remix Poll
The favourite 'Venus' poll has come to an end and thankyou to all who voted.
The outcome wasn't that much of a surprise as the mix that won usually wins, and we threw in some obscure ones to make the choice a little wider, however....
The winning mix is.
  1. Venus (Extended Version) 12 votes
  2. Venus (Hellfire Mix) 6 votes
  3. Venus (Fire & Brimstone Mix) 5 votes
  4. Venus (Marc Almonds Showgirls Mix) 4 votes
  5. Venus (The Greatest Remix) 3 votes
The other 5 mixes unfortunately didn't get any votes at all.

Bananarama ~ Venus {Mendez Reworked Dub}

Bananarama ~ Venus {Mendez Rework Dub}
A variant and completely new twist on Bananarama's 'Venus' by Mendez who made this dub mix, not so much use of the vocals or the famous chorus, but a big electronic dubtronica sound.

Bananarama ~ Venus {GoldSky Mix}

Bananarama ~ Venus {GoldSky Remix}

A remix for Bananarama's now legendary single 'Venus' remixed by DJ Goldsky.

Venus reached #8 in the UK top 100 in 1986 and #1 in America the same year, it was a massive worldwide hit charting in 26 countries.

Over 80 versions and remixes have been made of 'Venus' and most recently by Marc Almond for the Bananarama album 'Drama' released in 2005.
Siobhan herself has performed the song in her live sets to much applause, both she and Bananarama have continually reinvented the song in various forms.

Bananarama ~ Through A Childs Eyes

Bananarama ~ Through A Childs Eyes (album version)
A very atmospheric song written by Siobhan Fahey, Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward from Bananarama's 2nd album released in 1984 which showcased a more grown up and sophisticated style of songwriting.
Boasting a harmonised vocal and evident input from Siobhan 'Through A Childs Eyes' is cited by fans as one of their best songs vocally and lyrically, and a standout track from 'Bananarama' which included their massive singles 'Cruel Summer' 'Robert DeNiros Waiting' 'Rough Justice' and the largely forgotten 'Hotline To Heaven' in America the album included 'The Wild Life' which was a single release there, Canada Australia and Japan.

Bananarama ~ No Feelings

Bananarama ~ No Feelings

'No Feelings' was a Sex Pistols punk cover recorded exclusively for the soundtrack to British film 'Party Party' released in 1982, one of Bananarama's very early recordings.

They would change their sound dramastically from this in the next year, leaving their punk ethos behind them as they became more prolific as pop writers, this truly is a lost gem.

Bananarama In a Perfect World

Bananarama ~ In A Perfect World {Album Mix}
This is the remastered full album version of 'In A Perfect World' one of Bananarama's darker songs from their 1886 album 'True Confessions'
This track uses Siobhan's deeper voice to great effect with the spoken lyrics scattered throughout the song. A dark theme, great production and lush harmonies make for a memorable track.
